"All of My Help Comes From the Lord"

Psalm 121

I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
2 My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.
3 He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.
4 Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand.
6 The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.
7 The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.
8 The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.

There were pilgrims that would journey to Jerusalem for Festivals. They may have song or prayed this while on this pilgrimage seeking and Trusting God’s protection and Strength. On the way to Zion, they could face many dangers seen and unseen, weather conditions or Elements, someone could possibly slip and hurt themselves, there were the dangers of robbers and other things to be concern about on their way.

This psalm can also be applied to us as Christians in our Pilgrimage through this life. This Journey began or begins when you Receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior by Grace through Faith obey John 3:5 and Acts 2:38.

For those who are not Saved, not Born Again etc…

Jesus Said: Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. (Matthew 11:28-30)

You may be burden down, dead in trespasses and sins. Sinners are unable to keep the Law of God. The Law of God is Good and Perfect but we are sinful. People are so burdened because they had failed over and over again to keep the Law, they are guilty. We must give Jesus the full weight of all our sin; we give Him our complete and utter inability to obey God. Do you want Peace, Rest, Joy, True Love etc…?

The Law came by Moses but Grace and truth came by Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ the Son of God (God manifested in Flesh) the Lamb of God, Shed his blood, Died on the Cross for our Sins and the Sin of the World, He was Buried and Resurrected from the Dead the Third Day for our Justification. (cf. Matthew 26:28; John1:29; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Romans 4:25). (Jesus Christ deemed defeated our greatest enemies: Sin, Death and the Devil). At the Cross, God’s Love and Judgement was satisfied.

Sinners need to be saved, to be born again of water and the Spirit (cf. John 3:3-5). They must believe and have Faith in Jesus in what he done (His Death, Burial and Resurrection), receive Jesus the Christ as their Lord and Savior, by Grace through Faith: REPENT, get Water Baptized (immersion) in the name of Jesus Christ (invoked) for the remission of sins and receive the Holy Ghost - Speaking in Tongues as the Spirit gives the Utterance (cf. John 3:16; John 1:12; Ephesians 2:8; Acts 2:4; Acts 2:38; Acts 10:45-46a and others).

Sometimes when we don't have the strength to fight, God will fight for us. We are not in this alone. Jesus Loves His Sheep. The main thing is to Trust God and not ourselves, something or someone else. All of my Help comes from the Lord. I will lift up eyes unto the hills from which cometh my help, my help cometh from the Lord that made heaven and the earth. He will keep us.

“One of the greatest challenges is to live the Christian life, not in one's own strength but in the power that God provides (John 15:5).” - By Steven J. Lawson

I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

We have: Prayer, Praise and Worship unto God, God’s Word and the Holy Ghost- the Spirit of Jesus to help us. (we should have a Prayer Life or a Life of Prayer).

That is why it should not be, “I will”, But “I Yield or Submit”, to the Leading of the Spirit of God in Jesus name.

[ whatever we need Physically, Spiritually, Emotionally and Financially God is our help.]

My God shall supply all your need according to His riches in Glory by Christ Jesus. (ref. Phil.4:19).

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. (Proverbs 3:5-6).

And he (Jesus) spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint; (Luke 18:1)

Pray without ceasing (1 Thess. 5:17).

– Depend and lean on God, Don’t give up or quit. Trust God our Lord Jesus. –

Be careful(worried) for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7).

No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord. – Isaiah 54:17.

"The Jewish foundation of the Christian Faith"

"The Shema" in which it states:

Deuteronomy 6:4-9. Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord: And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. 6 And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: 7 And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. 8 And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes. 9 And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates. (The Shema also includes Deuteronomy 11:13-21; Numbers 15:37-41).

Restated in:

Mark 12:29-34 And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.32 And the scribe said unto him, Well, Master, thou hast said the truth: for there is one God; and there is none other but he: 33 And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.34 And when Jesus saw that he answered discreetly, he said unto him, Thou art not far from the kingdom of God. And no man after that durst ask him any question.

Also alluded to by Paul:

in 1 Corinthians 8:6. But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.

There is One Supernatural Divine Supreme Being (Person)- God who is the Father (Eternal), the Son (External) and the Holy Ghost (Internal). “Not” Three Co-Equal Persons but Three Dimensions, Realms or Manifestations of One God and Jesus Christ is the One.

Israel’s God came in, through and as Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the Almighty One True God, he is the Son of God, the Son of Man etc.….

The Gospel (Good News) of Jesus Christ and the Kingdom of God.

First the Bad News: “ALL” have SINNED and come short of the Glory of God. The wages of Sin is Death (total separation from God forever, torment and suffering in the Lake of Fire Hell – for eternity).

The First Sin was by Lucifer (Pride) in Heaven. The First Sin by Adam and Eve (pride and disobedience) in Earth.

“Sin” came in through Adam and Eve: it was rebellion, pride and disobedience. Sin caused death in Relationship and Fellowship with God, the Entire Creation Fell.

“BUT”

Good News (the Gospel): the “GIFT” of God is Eternal Life through Jesus Christ our Lord. “GRACE”.

“Redemption” [God made a promise in the form of a curse on the Serpent, the seed of a Woman would crush his head and in doing so, he would crush his heel. This is promise of a Savior and a Redeemer, that would be for God’s image bearers- Humans and the entire creation. This seed promise was heightened in the promise and covenant to Abraham, that in his seed all the nations of the earth would be blessed,

“The Gospel” was preached to Abraham?”

[The Gospel God Preached to Abraham in the beginning (This is “the End” of the Gospel). God told the End (the Goal) in the Beginning, That All Nations of the Earth would be blessed in Abraham’s Seed (which is Jesus Christ).]

And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice. (Genesis 22:18)

Ye are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed. (Acts 3:25).

And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed. (Galatians 3:8).

The promise seed came down through Isaac, Jacob, Judah, King David. Jesus Christ the seed(son) of the Woman, the seed (son) of Abraham, the son of David, the Son of Man, the Son of God (God manifested in Flesh) the Lamb of God, Shed his blood, Died on the Cross for our Sins and the Sin of the World, He was Buried and Resurrected from the Dead the Third Day for our Justification (cf. Matthew 26:28; John1:29; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Romans 4:25). (Jesus Christ deemed defeated our greatest enemies: Sin, Death and the Devil). At the Cross, God’s Love and Judgement was satisfied.

Paul said the Gospel is the death, burial and resurrection of Christ (cf. 1 Corinthians 15:1-4). The Death, Burial and Resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ (This is “the Provision” of the Gospel).

Sinners need to be saved, to be born again of water and the Spirit (cf. John3:3-5). they must believe and have Faith in Jesus in what he done, receive him as their Lord and Savior, by Grace through Faith: Repent, get water baptized (immersion) in the name of Jesus Christ (invoked) for the remission of sins and receive the Holy Ghost - speaking in tongues as the Spirit gives the Utterance (cf. John 3:16; John 1:12; Ephesians 2:8; Acts 2:4; Acts 2:38; Acts 10:45-46a and others). To be Disciples of Jesus Christ walk in Holiness, the Truth, Love and Faith.

Acts 2:38 Peter on the day of Pentecost said: Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. (This is “the Application” of the Gospel).

For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. Acts 2:39 (above)

That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. Galatians 3:14

And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise. Galatians 3:29
